Our Story

About us

STEM Up is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing female representation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by expanding access to education, mentorship, and resources for youth k-12 notably, girls and young women. We believe that every girl, regardless of her background or circumstances, deserves the tools, resources, and support to only see herself in STEM, but to flourish and thrive there.

We can make a difference

STEM Up works to close the gender gap in STEM through hands-on educational programming, mentorship, and accessible resources specifically for girls from underserved communities, with a focus on reaching them early and consistently. We know that access is one of the biggest barriers to participation in STEM, thus, a lot of our work is about removing limitations wherever we find it, whether that

means the cost of a tutor, the lack of a nearby mentor or simply

inciting curiosity to discover the wonders of STEM!

Expanding our mission and impact by establishing STEM Up chapters within universities across the U.S, in order to provide college students with additional support not only with their current studies but also as in their prospective professional careers.

Our Initiatives

STEM Up has worked to bring STEM education and mentorship to children in our community and beyond, reaching from local initiatives to a broader global stage. Every toolkit distributed, every mentorship connection made, and every tutoring session delivered represents a girl who now has one more reason to believe she belongs in STEM.
